Baloney & Butter Sandwiches

Baloney (Balogna) is one of the most inexpensive meats in the cold cut universe. I love its silky simplicity which is why I don’t adorn it with cheese or mustard or lettuce or tomato or anything else. Nope.

This sandwich consists of only 3 ingredients: bread, baloney and butter. It is best to use whipped butter for this – if it’s available. If Breakstone’s brand is on sale, get it. Otherwise store brand is fine. We use a multigrain bread which toasts up nicely and adds a good crunch but any kind of sliced bread will do.

Need This
2 slices of bread
4 – 6 slices of baloney (depending on how thin it is sliced)
Whipped butter (at room temperature)

Do This
Lightly toast the bread.

Slather a generous shmear of whipped butter on one of the toasted slices. Don’t be shy with the butter.

Layer the baloney slices over the buttered toast.

Top the baloney with the other slice of toast.

Put a diner cut (diagonal) on it.

Grab an ice cold Dr. Pepper from the fridge. Enjoy!

Makes 1 sandwich. My cost approx 78 cents.
